The tagline for Kaleidoscopica is "Obsessive Psychedelic Funk-Beat 70's Italian Music Library" and that is pretty much what you get. Some of the songs featured seem quite unremarkable at first but if you concentrate hard then the subtle nuances at play reveal themselves. There is a cinematic quality to tracks like "Ribollente", "Sax Twin" and "Giallo Nell'Industria" while "Presse" and "Parco Dei Principi" evoke images of a late night jazz session in a smoky nightclub. This album will not be to everyone's taste but for dedicated fans of library music and Italian grooves there is plenty of satisfaction to be had.
