Obviously the cover art had a bit to do with me posting this album (!) but the music isn't too bad either. Hawaiian music may be the poor cousin of exotica but Big Ben and his band hold their own with some breezy tunes that don't go too far over the top. There is a certain festive vibe that runs through the whole record with some of the tracks sounding strangely like Hawaiian style Christmas jingles. It all finishes with a wistful rendition of "Aloha Oe". If you download one Hawaiian album this year make it "On The Beach At Waikiki"!
