I'm not sure if anyone has noticed but earlier today Funky Frolic passed the 1,000,000 pageview mark. Unfortunately it happened around 5am my time so I missed the big moment but I'm still thrilled to have made it this far. From humble begins FF has grown to the point where 4,000 pageviews a day is the norm, so I'd like to say a big thank you to all the visitors and supporters who have made this blog what it is today. It's great to see a lot of people becoming return visitors and enjoying their time here, it certainly validates my taste in music when I read comments from people expressing their joy at my selections. I hope I can continue to entertain and enlighten for a while longer...

congratulations on becoming a millionaire! that is no small feat! 4,000 hits per day is some serious traffic. much respect for keeping it ad-free, although i wouldn't hold it against you if you chose to go that route and decided to monetize the blog traffic. we all need to eat!

@Lord Summerisle - Good point. I just checked and no, my reader stats don't contribute to my counter numbers. So for example yesterday I had 796 views of my blog feed and out of those people 134 continued on to the site and contributed to my counter stats.

You select music which deserves a wider audience, and brings recognition to artists who are consistently ignored by record companies today.
You highlight the true value of sharing our eclectic musical tastes.
None of us share music because we want to avoid paying artists.
Rather, we HAVE to share as most of this music is no longer available to buy, and if the record companies had acted promptly and monetized their archives sensibly and fairly, we would now have an online system where we could happily pay a reasonable price for the music we love.
Unfortunately, the record companies chose to cynically fight the new technology and concentrate on repeatedly releasing their back catalogues at full price.
Napster, Kazam....the rest is history.
Losers! Their day is over.
