Those of us still smarting from the Megaupload shutdown were dealt a further blow today with the announcement that Fileserve and FileSonic have been spooked into disabling their file sharing services. I read a very interesting article over at Forbes.Com yesterday that essentially debunks the argument that the entertainment industry and content creators are suffering hardship due to file sharing. While this latest development probably only affects a handful of links at Funky Frolic the most worrying aspect is that there could be much more of this to come. It looks like 2012 is going to be a defining year for the internet and users might be the ones that suffer.
I have re-uploaded a handful of files since yesterday but I also discovered a bunch more Megaupload links in my archives so I still have about 30 that are inactive.
