THE CARL STALLING PROJECT - MUSIC FROM WARNER BROS CARTOONS 1936-1958

Download here

Full track listing - here

Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons were a staple of my childhood and teenage years. Even back then I was aware of the musical genius involved in bringing these animated stories to life. This collection focuses entirely on works composed by Stalling, so Raymond Scott misses out. I will presume that most of you have at least a passing knowledge of Looney Tunes and therefore know exactly what you're getting yourself in to - lots of quirky, joyous orchestral works and SFX. A truly wonderful compilation of music that is as vibrant and lively as it was 60+ years ago.

Here's something a little different, a compilation I've put together of some of the best American stand up comics in the scene today. If you like to laugh and aren't easily offended then you should get a kick out of these guys ( and girl ). I'm thinking about posting some of the original albums these tracks came from so if you have a certain comedian from the above list that you enjoy then leave me a message. Please note - in my rush to upload this I didn't tag it properly so you might need to move a few tracks around to get the above playlist. Cheers.

WOODY ALLEN - THE NIGHTCLUB YEARS

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?kok8dg430dcjsoe

Track 1 - The Nightclub Years Pt.1
Track 2 - The Nightclub Years Pt.2
Track 3 - The Nightclub Years Pt.3
Track 4 - The Nightclub Years Pt.4

Here is a change of pace for Funky Frolic. Before his film career took off Woody Allen was a very funny stand up comedian and this is a collection of his performances between 1964 and 1968. There is much neurosis to be had, with Woody taking aim at his family, his ex wife and ofcourse himself. It is a credit to his skill that 40+ years on much of the material presented here is just as funny. Jokes about owning a pet ant, his attempt at moose hunting, being employed to "look Jewish", being mistaken for a Klan member and becoming a Vodka spokesman all hit the spot. There is another album called "Standup Comic" which has better sound quality and much the same material but is broken up into various bits and this hampers the flow of the performances a little.

These 19 Sesame Street themed tracks have been collected from a number of unusual sources. Some are taken from the 70+ official releases that have been put out over the years, others have been donated by supporters of Funky Frolic (Budd and Mike via Frayker) and the last few songs come from my own collection. The Roosevelt Franklin album is an interesting one, he was a short lived jive-talking character that was shown the door because of the potential bad influence he might have on children. There is a few disco themed SS records and I have included some of those tracks here plus there is a bonus comedy bit by Paul F. Tompkins to finish proceedings. If there is enough requests I might be encouraged to post some of the albums I used to put this compilation together.

Track 28 - Jingle Bells Rock The Muppets

What would the 1970's and 80's have been like without the Muppet Show? This comprehensive collection reminds us of the musical magic that was present amongst all the fun and frivolity. Included here are classics such as "The Muppet Show Theme", "Mah Na Mah Na" (written by Piero Umiliani), and "Bein' Green" (which appeared initially on the first season of Sesame Street). However the biggest hit of all was "Rainbow Connection" which reached No.25 on the Billboard charts, was nominated for an Oscar and is listed at No.74 on the AFI's list of "Greatest Movie Songs Of All Time".

Kermit, Miss Piggy and Fozzie all feature heavily along with a selection of other characters. The super groovy "Movin' Right Along" is possibly my favourite track of all but there is plenty more to keep even the most casual of fans interested. If you would like more of Ms.Piggy (and who wouldn't?) you can get it here.

TEAM AMERICA WORLD POLICE OST

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?cbd4kcb4yg469ed

Track 1 - Everyone Has AIDS
Track 2 - Freedom Isn't Free
Track 3 - America Fuck Yeah
Track 4 - Derka Derk (Terrorist Theme)
Track 5 - Only A Woman
Track 6 - I'm So Ronery
Track 7 - America Fuck Yeah (Bummer Remix)
Track 8 - The End Of An Act
Track 9 - Montage
Track 10 - North Korean Melody
Track 11 - The Team America March
Track 12 - Lisa And Gary
Track 13 - F.A.G
Track 14 - Putting A Jihad On You
Track 15 - Kim Jong Il
Track 16 - Mount, Rush, More

I've been looking around for some more Barry Gray music to post but in the meantime please enjoy the pure nuttiness that is "Team America World Police". Aside from the obvious joys of novelty tunes like "America Fuck Yeah", "Everyone Has AIDS" and "Freedom Isn't Free" there are some more serious orchestral tracks composed by Harry Gregson-Williams. I would have liked to hear more of the classic dialogue included to spice things up but that is my only criticism.

MISS PIGGY'S AEROBIQUE EXERCISE WORKOUT ALBUM

Updated Link - http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?cf5cnmcmg1q86fg

Track 1 - Stereau Warmup
Track 2 - Snackcercise
Track 3 - Lift The One You Love
Track 4 - Exercise Your Rights
Track 5 - Dream Dancin'
Track 6 - La Vie Aerobique
Track 7 - Sit Down
Track 8 - Breath Easy
Track 9 - A Little Chin Music
Track 10 - Hairobiques Made Easy
Track 11 - Au Revoir

I've said it before and I'll say it again - you just don't find wonderful junk like this any more. Not only is it gobsmacking that this album was conceived, funded and produced but it also proved to be highly popular! I mean, it's an angry, overweight puppet pig taking the piss out of the 80's aerobics craze. It really is a credit to the unbelievable popularity of the Muppets that they spawned countless films and albums over the course of so many years. While I wouldn't recommend this as a weight loss tool, it will exercise your funny bone!

MY PUSSY BELONGS TO DADDY - VARIOUS ARTISTS

Updated link - here

Track 1 - My Pussy Belongs To Daddy / Faye Richmonde
Track 2 - Sadie's Still Got The Rag On / Faye Richmonde
Track 3 - I Want A Man To Gimme Some Luck / Faye Richmonde
Track 4 - I Tried It Everywhere / Saul T. Peter

Track 7 - He Forgot His Rubbers / Angelina
Track 8 - Hey Mister Ice Man! / Miss Dee
Track 9 - Things Are Soft For Grandpa / Miss Dee
Track 10 - Tony's Got His Nuts / Faye Richmonde

Your what belongs to who?!!! This is a collection of risque ditties from the late fifties, or at least they were risque back then. These days they just sound bizarre but you might find yourself blushing while listening to "Things Are Soft For Grandpa" or "He Forgot His Rubbers". This album often appears on internet lists of bizarre / worst ever cover art. I don't mind it so much!

RICHARD & WILLIE - FUNKY HONKEY, NASTY NIGGER

Richard & Willie was devised by Richard Sanfield in 1967 when he saw a ventriloquist act perform at a nightclub. He went on to do shows at a number of venues including the Apollo Theatre in New York and even cut a record with Richard Pryor. This is a live album which was recorded in 1975. It's a bit hard to describe - sit down comedy maybe? Obviously it is considered to be one of the most bizarre pieces of cover art in the history of recorded music and has meant Richard & Willie's legacy will not be forgotten any time soon. There is no track list for this one, it's presented as a single set.

Now, I have listened some strange stuff in my time but Dirty Fan Male goes so far beyond anything I have heard before! The first time I played this I spent the entire time laughing uncontrollably or trying to pick my jaw up off the ground. It is a collection of letters to porn stars and Page 3 girls which are recited for your listening pleasure. Some are hilarious, some are filthy and many are way way way beyond weird. The voice talent really bring out the desperation and dirtiness in each gobsmacking letter. This record has been so popular it has spawned a book and a sold out stage show. Here is an example of what to expect -

You really turn me on
wild really wild
and you very beautiful
sexy body
and you're gorgeous
and sexy big boob and rising nipple
and i fuck you
and you fuck me
and we fuck all the day
and we fuck all the night
and my big rising willie

Yours sincerely

Lionel

This album is one of the reasons why I have an "Adult Content" warning at the front of my blog. Be assured, this is strictly adults only. It was released on the excellent Trunk Records which also put out the brilliant Super Sounds Of Bosworth compilation.
