I'm surprised I didn't get around to posting this series earlier - but here it is! These compilations were put out by Crippled Dick Hot Wax during the library / rare groove / Italian soundtrack resurgence in the late 1990's. While the track selection doesn't really work in terms of continuity, it matters little in the face of gems from Piero Piccioni, Armando Trovaioli and Steffano Torossi. Piccioni's "Vedo Nudo (Shake)" and "Playgirl 70 (Party Music 1)" are both excellent with their main rival being the slinky guitar and organ groove of "Crazy" by Armando Trovaioli. The album is a bit of a strange beast but there should be enough here to satisfy the majority of rare groove fans. Volumes 1 and 2 will be posted in the coming days.

I just happened to hear Tema Di Oscar on Pandora. I know it happens a lot, but it is a very blatant knockoff of "Classical Gas". Not saying I didn't like it, but wow, the composer nailed every highlight in the song, despite not using the same notes.
